Sale comments:

A result that was so unexpected and humbling. The strength of the sale was the repeat commercial support with many top end commercial breeders taking home sires in the $20,000 to $34,000 range. The result of this commercial strength saw 50 bulls sell for $20,000 or more and the remainder selling between $8000 to $18,000. Two particular sire lines stood out with 5 sons of Injemira Kickstart P093 averaging $41,200 and 25 sons of new New Zealand sire Matariki Kingpin averaging $23,320. Bulk commercial support came from Juandah Ag- Roma Qld with 23, Alva Downs- Branxholme Vic with 5, Woakwine Station- Beachport SA with 5, Woomargama Station- Woomargama NSW with 4 and Belgrave- Mumbanner Vic with 4. PTIC DRY COWS

Name: Lot 1 - INJEMIRA REDFORD J006 M126 (P)

STUD SIRE: An absolute stud sire in the making and he is a 2 y/o heifers first calf. His Breedplan EBVs are exceptional with strong calving ease traits, low birth weight, high growth in the top 1%, above average milk and carcase data that is just outstanding, culminating in his 4 index values being in the top 1% of the breed. Phenotypically he is a modern sire with a moderate maturity pattern, tremendous muscle shape, smooth inlaid shoulders and a sires outlook. All this is complimented by a temperament that is completely 'bomb proof'. His maternal pedigree is packed full of quality going back to the great Pattie X007 that had in excess of $180,000 worth of sons sold topping at $45,000 in 2008. All progressive stud herds should be looking at this sire as their next calving ease/carcase sire. NB: 50 units of semen have been retained for in herd use. H

2012 SALE REPORT

A very pleasing result with 30% of the catalogue going to new clients of Injemira. A 100% clearance was achieved for the fourth year running. The commercial support was strong with commercial sires going to NSW, VIC, SA, QLD and Tasmanian. Also studs presented strong competition securing sires headed for QLD, VIC, TAS, WA and King Island. Another pleasing result was the relatively young age of the many new clients indicating Herefords are well and truly on the commercial radar. Demand was strongest for the younger “Spring Drop” sires with little difference between the horned and polled bloodlines.
