2022 REFERENCE POLL SIRES

2022 Reference Poll Sires

Name: INJEMIRA KICKSTART P093 (AI)(PP)

Kickstart P093 was sold in our 2020 sale to Guy Kentish of Waterloo Grazing after being used as a yearling on heifers. We thought so much of this sire at the time that we collected him and AI'd heifers for the 'Spring' joining. This bull carried so much muscle expression and style that I thought he would be a great breeding sire and this has proven correct. The sons in the sale this year are just so very good with extreme carcase and overall perfect maturity patterns. His EBV set has just got better and better over time being the top ranked calving ease sire in Australia along with curve bending growth in the top 1% of the breed along with outstanding carcase data with muscle top 1%, rib fat top 1% and marbling top 5%. Just look at his offspring and you will see why the data has gone the way it has. Highlights include Lots 44 & 45.

Name: MATARIKI KING PIN (IMP NZL)(PP)

King Pin has done a wonderful job. Our industry needs outcross genetics and King Pin is a complete outcross to the Australian industry. The sons presented in 2022 are a great line of even bulls with plenty of bone, length and style. The data he brings to the table is strong with moderate birth weights, high growth and terrific carcase credentials with EMA in the top 5% and marbling in the top 10% of the breed. We really look forward to the impact King Pin will have on our herd. Some really exciting sons suitable for stud duty are present in lots 46,47 & 48.

Name: IVY BANK MISCHIEF M101 (ET)(P)

Purchased at Dubbo National this absolute meat machine of a sire has delivered perfectly to our program. His sons are full of red meat with fantastic skin and hair combined with very sound structure. His data has gone through the roof on the carcase side whilst maintaining low birth weight. A stud sire that ranks in the top 1% of the breed for EMA & top 5% for marbling always has a home at Injemira. Some very good sons are present in this catalogue with Lot 3 & 4 being the highlight.

Name: INJEMIRA TECHNO N250 (AI)(P)

Techno N250 is a bull I retained in the herd not only because he was sired by the great Techno but it was due to his female line. Plum E212 is the dam of our record breaking sire Anzac K220 that sold for $110,000 in 2016 and is a female that I wanted to spread the genetics more through our female herd. He was used lightly in this joining but what he has delivered is topline!

Name: RAVENSDALE WESTWARD M035 (ET)(P)

Westward was purchased at Dubbo National for $20,000 for his marbling and calving ease attributes. He has been a solid contributor to the 2022 catalogue. The sons are thick and mobile with plenty of quality modern industry attributes. His data has got stronger over time which is a true indication of where he is headed. Lot 4 in the catalogue is a really wonderful example of what this sire can do.

Name: RAVENSDALE WILDFIRE L133 (ET) (PP)

Its not often that a bull comes along that breeds so consistently and with such quality as this son of Robin Hood H38. A new era of Wildfire's continues at Injemira in 2022. His calves are just tremendous and have surpassed all expectations and sold exceptionally well. In 2020 Wildfire topped the sire averages and selling to $34,000. They are everything a modern breeding program should be. Moderate framed functional cattle with the ability to finish and packed full of high quality red meat.

Name: DAYS EXECUTIVE K168 (PP)

Executive was purchased to compliment the Anzac females in our herd and he has done this. His first sons sold in 2019 and met very solid competition topping at $20,000 with many selling in the $15,000+ bracket, he backed this up in 2020 with sons averaging over $10,000. The strength we have found with Executive is his daughters, they are breeding the house down as can be seen with our $160,000 record breaking sire of 2021 out of an Executive daughter. His sons offer growth and weight for age along with wonderful whiteface cosmetic appeal.

Name: BOWMONT WALLACE L006 (AI) (S)

Wallace has been a great bull predominantly used over heifers in the herd. The calves are really thick and have great even fat distribution and class. This is the last year to secure a Wallace son but his daughters in the herd are breeding really well.

Name: INJEMIRA FORTUNE M152 AI ET (AI) (ET) (PP)

The sale topper of our 2018 sale (Jarrah Genetics QLD- $50,000) has bred so well for us as a heifer joining sire. The birth weight and calving ease is incredible. Never have I seen calves hit the ground so small then just grow and grow and grow. A true curve bender. His Breedplan data is phenomenal with a -0.5 birth weight and a 7.8 EMA and 2.7 IMF%. What a set of data!! Sons are very consistent with many great herd improving sons.

Name: INJEMIRA REDFORD J006 (PP)

What can I say about Redford J006??? He is a sire that breeds above himself every single time. The feature of his sons in 2021 was Lot 51, potentially the most complete bull we have ever offered - selling for Australian record price of $160,000. Redford J006 has been the perfect sire to join to heifers, they calve easily then grow with great carcase and whiteface cosmetics.

Name: WARRAGUNDI MINNESOTA (PP)

I inspected Minnesota at the Sydney Royal feature show. Prior to judging I was blown away by his conformation and overall meat content and decided then and there he would benefit the Injemira program over our high indexing females. Minnesota went on to claim the Supreme exhibit in the Hereford section and then went on to be named the Supreme male exhibit of the entire show (all breeds). The calves he has produced have been really good and everything we have hoped for. They have plenty of growth, Length and weight for age combined with strong maternal attributed.

Name: DAYS GENESIS N102 (AI)(P)

A specialist heifer sire selected for our AI program. He is low birth weight with easy calving and the calves are very strong throughout. Genesis has produced some very nice commercially orientated bulls and he is a sire that I am certain can stand stud duties and breed large lines of commercial sale bulls.

Name: EFBEEF U208 FORTUNE Y848

Another out-cross Homozygous poll sire direct from the USA. This bull is really kicking goals in the American Hereford Associations progeny test trial and with the commercial relevant data coming back had to be used extensively in the Injemira program. The great legacy of this sire has been his son Fortune M152 that you can see from this catalogue has had a huge impact on our breading program. The Fortune line has fantastic calving ease combined with growth and unrivalled cacase data.

Name: ELITE M202 P101 (PP)

A Herefords Australia 'Super Sire' that we purchased in 2020 from the Elite production sale. Unfortunately he was a very keen lets say 'server' and suffered an injury early on in his first joining so we only got a handful of calves. I can say from this handful of calves they are tremendous for weight for age with the second heaviest heifer in the drop being a daughter.
